Since Port of Subs® owns and operates corporate restaurants throughout the system, we stay informed about the daily operations and challenges restaurant operators face. We pass along proven practices and procedures.
- Real Estate
You will participate greatly in helping to secure a site, as the process will help you to understand your guest base by studying the demographic data provided by top notch real estate brokers that thoroughly know the retail area where your restaurant might be located. For a traditional restaurant, you get a trade area for site selection and typically a 1 mile radius protection around traditional sites (1/4 mile around downtown and business district sites).
A corporate design team assists in pre-construction restaurant layouts. Architects and contractors help you submit the plans, obtain the permits, and construct the restaurant.
You are required to send two people through the training program. The main management designee will spend 4 weeks of in-restaurant and corporate classroom training, and the second person will spend two weeks focusing on in-restaurant training. In most all areas, your team members will train in an existing Port of Subs® restaurant.
- Grand Opening and Opening Support
Dedicated, hands-on, local Franchise Field Consultants (FFC’s) and Field Marketing Consultants (FMC’s) offer up to 10 days opening support and the FMC assists in executing a marketing campaign for your restaurant launch and in developing a customized Local Restaurant Marketing strategy to help drive traffic and revenue through catering, loyalty, and special event programs.
Most advertising expenditures are made on a local basis through advertising cooperatives which are generally controlled by the Franchisees as there is one vote per restaurant. This local level approach helps to insure that the advertising dollars are effective locally.
- On-going Operational Assistance
Operational assistance doesn’t end at the restaurant opening...We help you every step of the way. After you open your new restaurant, Port of Subs® dedicates a Franchise Field Consultant and Field Marketing Consultant to visit your restaurant on a regular basis to provide operational and marketing guidance for your restaurant.
- Sliced Fresh Sandwiches
A unique taste...Freshly sliced, top quality meats and cheeses, baked fresh breads, zesty dressings and spices are used in every restaurant. Our master slicers ensure that your sandwich is sliced fresh and made to order. We slice it fresh, right in front of our guests, because fresh sliced tastes better.
