(Reno, Nev.) – The National Turkey Federation (NTF) presented Port of Subs with it’s Seventh Annual “Turkey on the Menu” (T.O.M.) Award at the National Restaurant Association (NRA) convention in Chicago on May 17, 2009, and will be presenting the official award to Port of Subs’ CEO, John Larsen and President Mike Powell on June 3 at 12:30 p.m. in Reno at the Port of Subs’ corporate office.
This prestigious award will be presented by a Butterball LLC. representative to Port of Subs in recognition of their casual/family-style restaurants for its consistent and innovative turkey sandwich menu items that distinguish them from the national competition. Port of Subs has become well-known for its continued commitment to quality products and outstanding customer service.
“We’ve become synonymous with quality sandwich making and turkey allows us to continue providing our customers with top quality meat that gives our made-fresh-to-order sandwiches their unique taste,” said Port of Subs President, Mike Powell. “Winning this prestigious award is a real thrill and an honor.”
A large part of Port of Subs’ success and reason for winning the award is due to their core line-up of turkey sandwiches.
“By using turkey products and creating a recognizable flavor for consumers, Port of Subs has shown that with a little creativity, turkey can be the perfect protein of choice year round,” said Sherri Rosenblatt, NTF’s vice president of marketing and communications.
